First let me introduce myself :
- whitedune's debian maintainer (X3D editor : (1) )
- on my (rare) free time, I help the myosotis project, (since I know michel since we were students)
As promised I worked this weekend on freewrl integration in debian :
- that vrml viewer was in debian long time ago but went away… (2)
- upstream is still active (3), and many efforts are done by Michel to made it available to debian/ubuntu users also (4) …
So I am trying to help and hope we (co-maintainers) can get it back into debian's main and ubuntu as well
- I just set up a git repo on debian's alioth (pkg-multimedia team which IMHO fits best) (5) , imported previous version and working on an current release…
- Currently (20100320) latest release builds and runs on most arch …
If anyone wants to help, feel free to :
- general testing (6)
- pull the UNRELEASED branch from git (5) and fix mistakes to be merged (in debian/* first)

- report issues on the integration on upstream tracker (7)
- test some java/EAI demo I wrote a decade ago : (8)
